Homespun Farm Bed & Breakfast is the result of 250 years of history and if those walls could talk (some say they do) - One would hear stories rich in Connecticut History and generations of people investing pride and time into this United States National Historical Landmark. Hence the name Homespun or hand made which is more than a name, This property was “Homespun” long before it was named such.
Orchard Room & The Cherry Room are both warm and welcoming. Both guest rooms have been kept in a “timeless state” taking guests back to the surroundings of a traditional Connecticut farm house and without spoiling the old world ambiance, modern amenities have been added and blended to create the ultimate guest experience. Imagine getting cozy by your own fireplace in your room that is over two centuries old and at the same time surfing the wireless internet and watching satellite tv !
Mystic & The New London Area really does offer something for everyone. Guests can visit the Casinos, Seaport, Aquarium, and all of the attractions that the area has to offer or just take a quiet hike on one of the many nature trails and enjoy this region’s natural beauty. From NY, NJ & Points South:
Take I-95 North, into Ct. to exit 76 (left side exit) onto I-395 North. Take exit 85. Go right at the end of the exit onto Route 164. We are 3/4 of a mile on your left. The house faces away from the road so you won't see much of it. There is a split rail fence outlining the driveway.Parking is behind garage.
From Points North:
Take I-395 south. Take exit 85. At the end of the off ramp, go straight at the light, continue to second light. Take a left onto Route 164. We are 3/4 of a mile on your left. The house faces away from the road so you won't see much of it. There is a split rail fence outlining the driveway. Parking is behind garage.
From Mystic, Connecticut:
Take Route 27 north. Go right onto Route 184. At traffic circle follow around and stay on Route 2 (passing Foxwoods Casino) to the light at the intersection of Route 2 and Route 164. Turn right onto Route 164. We are approximately 7 miles on your right. The house faces away from the road so you won't see much of it. There is a split rail fence outlining the driveway. Parking is behind the garage.
From Boston and points north-
95 south to exit 5 A (Exeter, RI) follow this short road off freeway to the stop sign, bear right on 3 south, follow this road to route 165 (it's about a mile or so and passes through two quick lights to a flashing light) turn right at this flashing light. Follow this all the way into Ct. It turns into routes 138 and 165. Stay on 138 into Jewett City. When you reach an AMES store on your left you will see interstate 395, cross over the freeway (there are two lights) at this second light, turn left, this road parallels the freeway, this will take you to route 164, at the next light turn left again (otherwise you get on 395 south) We are 3/4 of a mile on your left on route 164. The house faces away from the road so you won't see much of it. There is a split rail fence outlining the driveway.
From the ferry in NLON
From parking lot, right onto the main highway (route 32) follow this over interstate 95, past the Coast Guard, and just stay on it until you see the on ramp for interstate 395 North. (I can't remember how far it is but you can't miss it) Take 395 north to exit 85. at the end of the exit(a stop light) turn right, we are 3/4 of a mile on your left. The house faces away from the road so you won't see much of it. There is a split rail fence outlining the driveway.
From NY and points west-
Mass pike to Interstate 91-
91 south to 84 in Hartford.
84 to Route 2 east
Route 2 east to Interstate-395 North
395 North to exit 85, Go right at the end of the exit onto Route 164. We are 3/4 of a mile on your left. The house faces away from the road so you won't see much of it. There is a split rail fence outlining the driveway. Parking is behind garage.
