The name "Connecticut" comes from the Mohegan Indian word "Quinnehtukqut" meaning "Long River Place" or "Beside the Long Tidal River." Connecticut is the fifth of the original thirteen states. The highest peak in Connecticut is Bear Mountain in Salisbury in the northwest corner of the state.
The eight regions of Connecticut are: Gold Coast, Litchfield Hills, Naugatuck River Valley, Greater New Haven, Greater Hartford, Lower Connecticut River Valley, The Quiet Corner  And Southeastern Connecticut.
The Connecticut River cuts through the center of the state, flowing into Long Island Sound, Connecticut's outlet to the Atlantic Ocean.
Connecticut has regional variations in its landscape and culture from the wealthy estates of Fairfield County's "Gold Coast" to the rolling mountains and horse-farms of the Litchfield Hills of northwestern Connecticut. Connecticut's rural areas and small towns in the northeast and northwest corners of the state contrast sharply with its industrial cities, located along the coastal highways from the New York border to New Haven, then northwards to Hartford, as well as further up the coast near New London.
Tourism in Connecticut is thriving all year. Visitors can expect spectacular fall foliage, winter skiing, spring, summer hiking and beach activities.

The charter boat After You, too provides affordable fishing for your group of up to six (6) passengers. The boat, a 32' H&H was custom built in 2002. It has an 11'3" beam and is powered by a 370 HP Yanmar Diesel. Top speed is 22 knots, and it cruises at 20 knots. It has an enclosed toilet and is outfitted with state-of-the-art electronics and modern safety equipment.
We fish out of two different ports. In the spring out of Green Harbor, Massachussetts, where we catch Cod, Pollack and Haddock. Several species of whales are often seen as well as seals. In May we relocated to New London, Connecticut where we fish inshore for Striped Bass, Bluefish and Fluke and offshore for Tuna and Shark. In the fall we fish for Bonito, Porgies and Blackfish also.
Captain Frank Blume has over 40 years fishing experience
and has been a licensed captain for nineteen years.
